Key Considerations Before Shipping Your Car from the UK

  • DVLA Notification: Inform the DVLA of your intention to export the vehicle. This is crucial to ensure it is removed from their records.
  • Destination Country Customs: Research and understand the customs regulations and potential import duties or fees in the destination country. Consult with a local customs broker for guidance.
  • Export Requirements: Ensure your vehicle meets all necessary export standards to facilitate a smooth shipping process.

Container Shipping Service (20 & 40 foot)

Through our container service, customers can export vehicles or personal cargo in a private container. Depending on the number of items, we offer both a 20ft container and a 40ft container on a rental or purchase basis.
A 20-foot container can accommodate one vehicle and a few personal goods, whilst a  40-foot container has room for two cars and a few personal effects. The reason Containers are often sought after for shipping is that they are the most secure when it comes to shipping cars and personal goods internationally, this is because access to the container is reserved for the shipper and no one else.
A major benefit however of shipping cars and items in containers is the fact that your car or goods will be protected against damage during transit as goods will be properly strapped within the container after which the container is then shut and sealed. One thing we can assure you in TEKS is that no matter the items, we will make sure they arrive at their destination on time and in perfect condition. In addition, you will come to find that our rates are very reasonable and that the shipping line we use, often maintains high standards of operation. Customers that require storage and loading assistance can also deliver items to our depot in Essex, where seasoned professionals can assist in strapping and securing the merchandise within the container.
